3) Why use a professional Booking Agency ? <top>
We play no favorites. If you spoke to almost all of the Artists we represent, they would tell you that “THEY” are the best Artist for the job. It is our task to ask the pertinent questions and give you answers that will help you come to an informed decision. We make sure the many details of staging a social event are dealt with well in advance. The best surprise is no surprise and we take care of all the details.
4) Who pays your fee? <top>
The Artist does. We quote you a total price. The price of an Artist can vary immensely because there are so few prime dates in a year so if costs are a factor, we gladly assist in helping. The Artist pays a fee to us for finding the work, handling all the details and being available to help when problems arise.
5) How do I check out an Artist? <top>
Check our website for info on each Artist. Each one will vary. You may call us at any point for guidance. Once you are ready you can book a viewing date or call references.
6) What affects the price of an Artist? <top>
Saturdays are the most popular days and most expensive. The high season for many dance bands are December, New Year’s Eve, Calgary Stampede or Klondike Days, and long weekends in the spring to summer months. Different kinds of Artists eg; Country Artists, are popular during the summer with major events like the Calgary Stampede, Klondike Days and many Rodeo and Community events occurring. Your best rates will be in January to April and mid August to mid November. Another peculiar quiet time is the time from Dec 20th (approximately) to Dec 30th. Some bands are more negotiable than others. Prices range from $350 - $6500 and up. Some popular dance bands price in the $1800 - $4500 range. Duo’s and trios are in the $600 – 1800 range. New Artists generally are more flexible in price. Travelling out of town will create certain travelling, accommodation and meal allowance costs.
7) How can I be better prepared to come to an informed decision? <top>
We ask you to:
a) List some radio Artists or styles you would want to listen to.
b) List your musical preferences for male and female singers, instrument preferences like drums, guitar, keyboards, horns, sax, trumpet, strings or specialty instruments.
c) Once you’ve gotten that info back to us we will direct you to some potential offerings. We will confirm availabilities of each of your choices.
d) You will then be given the option of calling references and viewing the Artist.
